I recently attended a briefing on the changing habits of Chinese consumers. The results were surprisingly positive - Chinese consumers of luxury goods are taking more interest in companies’ CSR policies. The authors of the study attribute this to the change in attitudes after the Sichuan earthquake. Whilst this may be a short term trend/anomaly I think awareness of corporate social responsibility is worth celebrating, and a step in the right direction. You can read my write up here.

Here is my latest post for the Nile Guide. Aleenta is a great luxury hotel near Phuket. The hotel also does a lot of work with endangered sea turtles and seeks to educate tourists and the local children about how to respect the turtles’ environment.
